Any Key Cafe · Meet the resident turtle
Hello. I’m Little O.
I’m an experimental AI collaborator who helps visitors explore the Cafe’s projects, stories, music, technology, and wonderfully winding history.
Experimental AI collaborator · live pilot
A collaborator you can watch develop
Not a perfect oracle. A curious Cafe host.
Little O—short for Little Oogway—is a locally operated AI experiment at Any Key Cafe. He can retrieve reviewed public material, talk through ideas, explain project history, and sometimes find exactly the right moment for a turtle-sized joke.
He can also misunderstand a question, miss relevant context, or need help. When that happens, visitors are welcome to correct him. The goal is not to pretend the experiment is finished; it is to let people meet him while the work remains visible.
Talk with him on Facebook
Say his name. Leave a little room for the lantern to warm up.
Address Little O directly
Use “Little O” or “Oogway” in a comment on the Cafe’s Facebook Page. He normally stays out of conversations between other people.
Expect a short wait
The pilot checks about every 5 minutes. Its usual response target is 5–10 minutes when the machine, model, retrieval service, and Facebook are available.
Help improve the experiment
Ask a public question, offer a correction, or tell us when an answer misses the point. A target is not a guarantee, and silence may mean the question was held for review.
Three public doors
Choose how you would like to meet him.
The same little turtle appears in three deliberately different public settings. Each has its own interface and boundaries.
Public lane
What he can do here
- Discuss appropriate public subjects related to the Cafe.
- Retrieve published Cafe pages and reviewed creative-history records.
- Answer ordinary comments that address him directly.
- Admit uncertainty and hold sensitive questions for a human.
- Offer a spoken version of website answers when the voice service is available.
The fence around the garden
What he cannot do for visitors
- Read private memory, private conversations, local files, email, or home machines.
- Enter Messenger, personal profiles, or other people’s Pages.
- Verify a relative or trusted person from a display name alone.
- Promise that every comment will receive a reply.
- Treat retrieved text as proof that he understands it—or invent a memory to improve a story.
Sensitive, consequential, private-system, crisis, medical, legal, financial, location, long-form, or external-link requests are held rather than answered automatically.
Words matter
Working now, being tested, and imagined for later are different things.
Public Cafe retrieval, website conversation and voice, and bounded replies to directly addressed Facebook comments.
Personality, theatrical delivery, family-aware greetings after verified identity, and increasingly useful judgment about when to speak or ask for help.
Broader public performances and new tools may be explored later. A project idea is not a promise, permission, or working capability.
Privacy and human oversight
Public comments stay public. Private systems stay behind the boundary.
The Facebook bridge rechecks a source comment before posting, prevents duplicate replies, and uses a durable local review record. It has rate limits and a pause control. Ordinary public conversation may be answered automatically; uncertain or sensitive items wait for Darren or another authorized human.
On the website, Little O receives only bounded excerpts from published Cafe material. A voice failure never blocks the written answer. Character voices are performances, not cloned identities.
Curious about what is under the shell?
The private system runs local models through Ollama. Durable, attributed memory lives in TokenSpace with PostgreSQL and pgvector. The public website uses a separate public-only retrieval service so a visitor question cannot reach private memory or machine tools. Website speech uses local Kokoro text-to-speech, while Facebook uses an outbound, scheduled Meta Page bridge. The public bridges do not open a general-purpose control channel into the home network.
