The Buried Sky — Publishing & Review Notes

Production status · October 22, 2026

Publishing & review notes

What is established, what remains provisional, and where the boundaries are.

Established

  • All 35 chapters are present and ordered in the working master.
  • 64 verified illustration originals are embedded at approved anchors.
  • A machine-readable artwork manifest preserves hashes, dimensions, evidence, and supersession status.
  • An internal 413-page layout proof passed basic clipping and blank-page checks.

Still to resolve

  • Final trim, bleed, margins, cover wrap, and format-specific output.
  • Real print-proof inspection for tonal range, faces, detail, and legibility.
  • A small set of low-priority editorial and author decisions.
  • Copyright, provenance, and disclosure review before publication.

Publication gates

Privacy

Transcript review remains locked

Full development transcripts are not approved for public release. Names, personal context, local-workspace references, and linked material require contextual editorial review.

Rights & provenance

Confirm before publication

Platform sharing terms, artwork rights, third-party material, attribution, and disclosure language require a final documented check.

Web production

Rehearse the live boundary

Draft pages do not necessarily protect direct media URLs. Production needs a fresh recovery checkpoint, link and mobile checks, URL rewriting, and an explicit media-access decision.

Reader-facing details

Publication remains forthcoming

No Amazon listing is yet recorded. The family-first purpose wording is authorized as a statement of present intention; no fixed allocation or financial commitment has been made.

Author-approved purpose statement

If the book earns revenue, the author’s first priority would be to help relieve the financial strain on his sister, whose support makes this work possible. His next priorities would be supporting Any Key Cafe, Little Oogway, and related AI research and creative projects. Longer term, he hopes to continue independent investigations into consciousness, geometry, physics, and the nature of reality.

This describes present intentions. It is not a fixed allocation, guarantee, trust, charitable solicitation, or other legal commitment.

Policy and provenance audit

  • AI disclosure: the project contains AI-generated prose and images, not merely spelling or editing assistance. The current KDP content guidelines require disclosure of AI-generated content during submission. The exact retailer answers must be reviewed again at publication.
  • OpenAI publication: the current Sharing & Publication Policy calls for manual review, human attribution and responsibility, and clear disclosure of the AI role. The overview now supplies reader-facing disclosure; final book and retailer language remain a publication decision.
  • Claude records: Anthropic’s current materials state that users retain input rights and own outputs, while requiring users to evaluate outputs before sharing. That does not replace copyright, privacy, or third-party-rights review.
  • Copyright: the U.S. Copyright Office AI guidance distinguishes human-authored expressive elements from material generated by AI. Registration strategy and the scope of protectable authorship require qualified legal review.
  • Artwork: all 78 displayed files are traceable by hash to preserved project records. The generator used for the images is documented only as the built-in image tool; the underlying engine, training data, and model-level provenance were not independently verified.
  • Transcript links: private file links and two unavailable third-party references are visibly omitted from reader derivatives. Other historical external links remain references, not endorsements or current advice.
Boundary: this page records production work; it does not claim the book is KDP-ready, released, legally reviewed, or available for purchase.
