I’m working some more today on my little sci-fi story. And as I’m thinking about how this is setting to unfold, basically, beginner star fairrying race, issuing out into space, and little threads and needles of stories that weave in between it. I’ve also been sort of piecing together what the colony ship might look like and how it might be arranged, because it’s in my mind, it’s going to be a dissectable beast, something that isn’t meant to come back. Each and every part becomes a part of the colony. So I was actually planning on having, like, maybe a midsection to this thing that was, might even look like a lot of squashed bubbles. And each one of these would be like its own self-sustained city. And within those, they’d have smaller ones that would detail out and fill in the surrounding areas of the little city with most likely the necessities of survival, like water, food, farming, whatever, that kind of thing. And how a ship might be partitioned in such a way that you have all of that on board, as well as transportation, even departments already in place, like all the ones you just mentioned, actually should be.
